Boeing defence workers go on strike in new blow to aviation giant

Tony TONY SAYS:
So, listen to this horseshit. Three thousand Boeing workers, right? *Three thousand*, went on strike. Defense workers. F-15s, the whole shebang. These guys build the goddamn planes that keep this country safe, and they’re walking out. Can you believe the nerve? This Gillian character, the vice president – some pencil-necked geek – he's crying about how they offered a 40% raise. Forty percent! Like these guys are working for minimum wage at a fuckin’ ShopRite. He’s probably got his own private jet, the schmuck. Probably flies first class, eats lobster every night. Forty percent is a joke. It's a fucking insult, I tell ya. These guys are risking their necks, working with metal and explosives... forty percent ain't gonna cut it. Capisce? The union, the IAM – they’re saying it’s about respect and dignity. Yeah, right. It’s about the dough, just like everything else. These guys aren't exactly working for peanuts, you know? They're skilled workers, but they always want *more*. It's human nature, I guess. Like a good gabagool sandwich, always gotta have that extra slice of provolone. You get what I mean? This CEO, Ortberg, he’s downplaying the whole thing. Says it’s smaller than last year’s strike. *Smaller*, he says. Like it’s a goddamn pizza slice. Sure, it’s *smaller* than the last one, but it's still a fuckin' problem. These guys make the planes, pal. You mess with them, you mess with the whole operation. It’s like messing with my crew – you think I’m gonna let some punk ass make a move on my guys, just because it's "smaller" than something else? Fuhgeddaboudit. And this whole thing about Boeing having problems… Two fatal crashes? A mid-air blowout? This ain’t no fuckin’ bakery, these are airplanes. People’s lives are at stake. Remember that time Paulie Walnuts got his hands on that bad batch of heroin? People died, and that was just a few bags. This is Boeing, they’re talking about *hundreds* of people. This ain't just about money, it's about being responsible. This whole thing stinks. It's a mess. They say it's the first walkout since 1996. Three months then, huh? These guys got some balls. Reminds me of that time I had a stand-off with that fuckin’ Lupertazzi guy. Three months it lasted. A long time, but I won. Just gotta have the patience, the right strategy. These union guys, they gotta know what they're doing. Maybe they’ll win, maybe they won't. But you gotta give it to them, they got the stones to shut down Boeing. That’s some serious cojones, right there. This whole situation is a real mess. And if it is a mess, that means opportunities... But hey, at least we got a good story to talk about, right? Get me another espresso. This one's on me.
